“Since she was a child young actress Maria Guzeeva was fond of extreme adventures and far-away lands”

We met Maria Guzeeva, a young promising actress, at her own boat. Maria has a dream to travel to the Pacific Ocean on this boat. A few people would dream of such an extreme adventure. But that is exactly what makes Maria special. She has been attracted by distant countries and adventures since she was a child. It all began quite long ago. When she was three a future actress learned alpine skiing. That's where it all started… By her 23 she learned not only to ski and sail her own boat but also to ride aqua bike, scooter and snowboard. She is going to add motorcycle, street racing and sky diving to this list. Masha is always ready for a freak-out. “Nuts” is the young actress’s favorite word. She definitely understands that her hobbies are rather dangerous and can damage her actress career somewhat but she can’t resist the temptation to get a new dose of adrenaline. “I believe that some supernatural force guides and protects me” – says Masha, - “I have many times got in to trouble and received serious injuries yet every time it all ended well”.

Maria confessed that most often she is led by a desire to attract men’s attention when she get’s these serious injuries. Last year for example she hurt her neck at a ski resort trying to perform a complicated jump in front of the group of snowboarders. «The fact that I have never done it before didn’t come to my mind at that moment and I didn’t think of better taking some training before. In addition it happened in the middle of the academic year when I simply couldn’t miss a single class. Every one at the institute thought that I was in a hospital with tonsillitis. Now imagine what I felt coming back to Moscow with a head holding orthosis on my neck.

On vocation Masha often get’s into trouble. Once her rented scooter was stolen right in front of the hotel. Then after eight hours of making African braids on her head she had her back writhed so that she couldn’t bathe or lie in the sun and she had to sleep on the floor (the room service girl even thought there was a stranger in the room and reported to the administration). When once Masha was in Spain she went to the balcony to watch the sea and the balcony door closed behind her back. The only way back led trough the fire escape to the roof. But Maria considers all that to be great adventures. She treats trouble with a sense of humor and a great deal of irony. She thinks everyone should do the same.

Stage is also a source of adrenaline for me, but of quite a different kind than snowboard or something like that. By the way Maria uses her acting talent not only on the stage. Often it helps her when she has to communicate with the The State Traffic Safety Inspectorate officers. “I am almost always stopped for scorching. But I can’t help it. Officers are shocked when they see that the driver is a girl but not a crazy street racer. I always use this advantage acting innocent “cap in hand”. It works almost every time. But Masha says no one should follow her example and do the same “nuts” things.
