Maria played Lidia Yavorskaya the most passionate love of Anton Chekhov. Yavorskaya was an actress in Moscow theatre of Fedor Korsh. She was a self-confident, temperamental and energetic woman. In the name of her love she made frantic gestures. She herself asked him to marry her, send him flowers and bombarded him with love letters.
